Stunning legend from 1927. I have not been for 30 years. Initial welcome (they were busy) a shambles as shown to a table for 5 not 6 as booked. But thereafter, staff were excellent. Lots of staple classic fayre - superbly cooked and presented. Wines were well chosen options. We enjoyed the legendary Tournedos Rossini - just succulent - and Chateaubriand, Duck, Chicken. Etc. Escargots of course. All very well done, and tasty. Cheese was nice, if a modest morsel. It's expensive, but is Central Soho. A lot of boorish, boyish, braying other guests - the sort of oiks, or orcs, one finds these days regretfully. A special meal for a special occasion. Bravo!

Overall: An easy 5 star sweep across the board for Brian Clivas’s Soho institution L’Escargot. Delightful service and delicious French food served in a warm, beautifully inviting setting nestled in the beating heart of Soho’s Greek Street. At the time of writing there is an excellent value lunch menu at 20 for two courses and 25 for three. It doesn’t get better in Central London. This is somewhere you’ll want to revisit time and time again. Bonus that it’s dog friendly! Food: French What I liked: • Top notch Service • Stunning interior • Perfectly portioned, beautifully presented food • Great price point What I didn’t like: • N/A Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value? YES Price Point:

This place is the oldest French restaurant in London. It has a lovely colourful yet tasteful and cosy atmosphere, with friendly and attentive service. However, the highlight is of course the food. I have found the duck confit is worth coming back for by itself. The skin is crisp and the flesh is perfectly tender, and the Bigarade sauce is perfectly sweet. The sides were also amazing, especially the decadent wild mushroom & foie gras and the creamy dauphinoise potatoes. We also had the Langoustine bisque and the French onion soup as starters, which were flavourful and perfectly seasoned. The house red was also delicious and paired well with the duck, and the Tarte au Citron was the perfect way to finish. I can’t wait to come back. It’s well placed for a pre-theatre evening meal as I found out on my first visit, and the prix fixe menu is very reasonably priced, with 3 courses going for 28. The a la carte menu is more expensive, with the cheapest main going for 26, although the duck packs a good flavour to price ratio!

Beautiful restaurant. Great service and dog friendly. Great menu and good value with the Prix Fixe and added a dozen of escargot . And a great bottle of red wine. We loved it. We had all the classics. French onion soup, confit duck and Scottish salmon. We can’t wait to come back. Placer out afternoon tea.

A great place - truly a piece of Paris in London. The food is fabulous and most of all the staff are incredible professional and kind. The atmosphere is nice and elegant. The wine collection is phenomenal, a reason to visit on its own. We only had ‘snacks’ and wine, and wish to have had more. The truffle and pecorino nuts are recommended

We came here for a lovely night out on our last night in London and it was excellent. The staff were kind and helpful and it was a quiet getaway from the general craziness of SoHo on a Thursday night. The food was delicious and sophisticated without being too pretentious. We particularly enjoyed the fresh bread, the escargot, the langoustine bisque and wild mushrooms with fois gras. While not inexpensive, the price is reasonable for the quality and worth it for a special night out.

Good restaurant with great services. Escargot is really good and for me this is a must. The quality of the ingredients is exceptional. Personally I found the food is a bit heavily salted.

A very enjoyable Sunday Lunch at the renowned L'Escargot restaurant. An elegant venue designed in the classic French Brasserie style. The menu is French and European. The food was excellent as was the service and the ambience. An ideal venue for a special occasion and dining with friends and family.
